Calgary Food War

A Signature Community Activation of the Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture.

Calgary Food War is an exciting culinary and cultural experience presented by Ethnik as part of the Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture (EFAC). Bringing communities together through the universal language of food, the event celebrates the rich flavours, culinary traditions, and cultural stories that make Calgary a vibrant multicultural city.

More than a food competition, Calgary Food War creates a dynamic platform for chefs, food vendors, culinary entrepreneurs, and community groups to showcase their skills, share their heritage, and connect with new audiences. Through friendly competition, live culinary experiences, food tastings, and community engagement, participants and visitors are invited to discover diverse cuisines while celebrating the creativity and traditions behind every dish.

The initiative also supports local entrepreneurship by providing opportunities for food businesses and emerging culinary talents to gain visibility, promote their products, and build valuable connections. By bringing together food, culture, and business, Calgary Food War encourages collaboration and creates opportunities for cultural exchange and economic participation.

At its heart, Calgary Food War is about more than what is served on a plate. It is about the stories, identities, memories, and traditions that food carries across generations and communities. The event creates a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can come together, celebrate their differences, discover shared experiences, and strengthen community connections.

Through Calgary Food War, Ethnik Festivals Association continues its commitment to celebrating cultural diversity, supporting creative entrepreneurship, and building inclusive spaces where food becomes a bridge between cultures.
